A really strong turnout of sheep forward with 72 individual females, 20 rams and numerous pens.
Shearling ewes
Sophie & Rob Hole with 1st place shearling and reserve champion
The pre-sale show kicked off the day with R & R Hole’s Lot 12 a great bodied ewe sired by Doclettwr Barney taking first prize in the shearling ewe class and going on to get reserve champion. She also went on to be the top priced shearling ewe at 520 gns finding a new home with Jackie Wild from Matlock in Derbyshire. Other notable shearlings were Lot 3, a stylish ewe from Sam Driver again finding its way back to Derbyshire with Jackie Wild for 450 gns. Charlotte Heaps across from Melton Mowbray saw their great pen of ewes topping at 380 gns and heading across to Mint and Mustard in Woodbridge Suffolk. Sam Driver saw two more ewes sold at 320 & 300 gns each. Les and Heather French saw several of their ewes topping at 320 gns.

Rob Harvey with 1st place ewe lamb and top price female
Back in the show ring Rob Harvey bought along his Suffolk show champion Braiseworth Gracie by Roci Exclusive. This tremendous ewe lamb didn’t disappoint, taking first place in the class and going on to make top price in the females at 720 gns finding a new home with Borkar & Davis from Glastonbury. A strong pen of lambs from Hydes Farming saw 380 gns twice with the lambs selling to Griffiths and Davies from Powys and Borkar & Davies. Another lamb from Hydes Farming at 300 gns found a new home with Mint & Mustard.
Shearling Rams
Sam Driver with 1st place shearling ram and top price overall
Sam Driver lead the way both in the show ring and the Sale ring. Lot 105 Sandy Lane Felix a powerful deep bodied ram by Bamburgh Celtic Warrior took first prize in the ring. He then followed that through to take the highest price of the day being knocked down for 1050 gns and selling to H Cory from the Vale of Glamorgan. Another Sandy Lane ram made 800 gns also heading to the same buyer
Ram Lambs
Rob Harvey with 1st place Ram lamb and overall champion
Rob Harvey took the top honor with his first placed ram lamb, Lot 110 Braiseworth Geezer, a big strong and powerful ram lamb taking the overall champion. He went on to make 780 gns and was sold to Parker & Bird from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. Rob’s other ram lamb sold for 550 gns to EE Davies of Carmarthenshire. Tim Pratts stylish ram lamb also made 550 gns to Heidi Cumley from Dresford Leicestershire and Louise Crowther saw her lamb away for 500 gns to P Clarke from Worcester.
Females to 780 gns and an overall average of 274 gns

Pens of shearling ewes topped at 280 gns and averaged 252 gns Pens of ewe lambs topped at 240 gns and averaged 210 gns
